About Telepractice

What is Telepractice?

Online speech therapy, sometimes called teletherapy, telehealth, or virtual therapy, is an effective, convenient way to receive high-quality speech therapy. Clients enjoy joining their sessions from home using our secure, HIPAA compliant platform. All you need is a computer or tablet and an internet connection and you can receive therapy from the comfort of your own home.

Telepractice involves video conferencing similar to Facetime or Skype, but uses our secure platform. Your therapist will share materials, articles, speech targets, and more on the screen to keep your loved one engaged. We complete all sessions in real-time, so clients get immediate feedback and encouragement.

Speech teletherapy cuts down on driving time, waiting in a waiting room, lugging other kids to sessions, cancelations because of inclement weather, and so on. In turn, more consistent attendance in a natural environment will lead to better communication progress.

My Child Struggled With Online School. Can Online Speech Therapy Really Work for Them?

Absolutely! Our therapists have been providing teletherapy since well before global shutdowns required it. That means we have the skills, expertise, and experience to deliver the most high-quality speech therapy there is. Moving Forward Speech Therapy clinic owner, Kathryn, has worked with plenty of clients who were skeptical at first. However, they quickly saw progress, even in their young children. The same can be true for you!

Just because virtual school didn’t work well for your child, doesn’t mean the same will be true of working with our therapists. We know what it takes to be successful online and have the tools to do so. We use engaging materials and make learning fun for people of all ages.
